| Oracle Capsules Library |
For users of the Oracle E-Business Suite we offer our unique Oracle Capsules Library What is a Data Capsule? |
In order to perform his
job, a Salesperson must have access to Sales Orders,Shipments to customers, Shipment Status, Customer Returns (RMA),Customer Payment Status, etc. All data attributes that make up this information are available for view in the Salesperson’s Data Capsule, even if not all of the data resides inside the Oracle Applications, as demonstrated by the following illustration. |
Our current Oracle Capsule Library includes over 160 templates (Oracle Views) covering most common Job Functions. The number is rapidly growing as new templates are added almost daily, at the request of existing and new customers and are made available to all the TOPic users’ community. What makes our Data Capsules Unique? * Our Capsules go across Job Function – not application modules * Each Capsule may contain data from multiple data sources – applications and databases. The source of the data is completely transparent to the user, as the GUI is similar for all data sources * Within the Capsule data is organized in a “Level & Branches” fashion, to follow the business workflow of the application * There are 14 different filters that can be applied to each column within the Capsule, such as: Equal, not equal, greater, lesser, etc * Special utilities such as Dynamic List Of Values for every column and a Relative Date utility (set dates as “Today”, “This Quarter” “Period to Date”, etc. make the capsule very user friendly * Each Capsule may contain an unlimited number of calculated columns for additional convenience * Application’s database column names are replaced with aliases to make sense to users and most of the time the aliases follow the application’s online naming conventions * The Data Capsule is a “Virtual Data Store” which means that no data is physically stored in the capsule * Users are confined within the Capsule’s content limits and therefore can not launch “bad” queries that will negatively impact system performance * All Capsules go through a thorough process of performance optimization * Modifying the content of a capsule by adding or changing columns is easy The Capsule Library is continuously being updated with every Oracle Apps new release. It currently covers Oracle releases from 10.7 through 11i.10 |
